Hello, my name is Michael Freeman.  Thank you for letting your son wrestle with us!  My objective is to mold young men through the oldest sport in the world.  Some of the most influential men in American history have wrestled, including 12 US Presidents. 

I have been blessed enough to coach wrestlers at Marvin Ridge Middle and High Schools for over a decade.  During that time, I have seen 57 Union County Middle School place-winners, 24 champions, 38 NC Jr. High place-winners, 23 finalists, 16 champions, and two National Team starters.  At the high school level, I’ve been there for 6 state place-winners, one State Champion, and have seen 6 Marvin Ridge wrestlers advance to the NCAA level.  I’ve recently experienced the gratification of running into my former middle school wrestlers around town with their own families!

Wrestling offers multiple benefits to the young athlete.  The most meaningful benefit a season of wrestling offers is satisfaction.  This comes from doing something very difficult and seeing it through.  I am looking forward to seeing all the kids start their walk down this life-changing road this season!
